CPR level “HCP”

CPR level “C” for health care providers, also known as CPR “HCP” is the most comprehensive CPR and AED course available through St Mark James. Candidates will learn all of the criteria from the CPR level “C” course and receive additional training specific to the health care industry. This course is designed for candidates that work or want to work in the health care industry which includes and is not limited to: doctors, nurses, dentists, health care administrators, paramedics, and some lifeguards. Candidates that successfully complete the course will receive a certificate that states certification and training in CPR “HCP” and AED.

Course Content:

Candidates enrolled in this course will learn about the following topics:

  • One and two person trained rescue using CPR on a adult, child or infant victim.
  • Proper and effective scene assessments.
  • How to rescue a victim that is conscious or unconscious with a obstructed airway (choking).
  • When and how to use a AED with or without a trained bystander.
    Bag Valve Mask use is taught in CPR “HCP”
  • How to recognize and treat victims of cardiovascular disease.
  • How to rescue victims with or without a trained bystander using the priority action approach (primary survey).
  • How to do CPR on a victim using bag-valve masks with or without a trained bystander.

Certification:

Candidates that successfully complete the skills component and the multiple choice tests with a minimum score of 70% will receive a St Mark James CPR level “HCP” and AED certificate. This certificate is valid for 3 years and is nationally accredited (valid throughout Canada). Certification meets government and legislative standards for Canada. Re-certification courses are available for this course.

Course Length:

The length of a CPR “HCP” and AED course is approximately 6 hours.

Course Cost:

The cost of a CPR “HCP” and AED course varies depending on your region. Course cost varies from 60 to 105 dollars. Course cost includes taxes, certification fee’s and CPR manual. Our training partners do not have hidden fees.
