CPR level “C” and AED

CPR level “C” and AED courses are the most popular stand-alone CPR courses offered through St Mark James. This course covers CPR rescues for adult, child and infant victims as well as some basic first aid and rescue skills for choking victims. Candidates will also learn how to efficiently provide assistance through the use of a AED. Successful candidates will receive certification immediately after completing the course. Course Outline:

Candidates register for CPR level “C” and AED courses will learn about the following topics:

  • CPR for adult, child and infant victims.
  • Choking rescues for adult, child and infant victims.
  • When and how to use a automated external defibrillator.
  • Using a priority action approach to rescuing victims.
  • When and how to contact emergency medical services (EMS).
  • Cardiovascular diseases and how to recognize and treat victims.
  • How to assess a victim and determine the level of emergency and what the emergency is.

Certification:

Candidates that successfully complete the skills component and the multiple choice test with a minimum grade of 70% will receive a St Mark James CPR level “C” and AED certificate. This wallet sized certificate (or wall mount certificate) is valid for 3 years and is nationally accredited and valid throughout Canada. Certification meets government and legislative standards. Certification also states training in the use of automated external defibrillators (AED). St Mark James re-certification courses are available for CPR level “C” and AED.

Re-Certification Programs:
